Description

Burials from ancient villages near Chupicuaro, Guanajuato contain hundreds of pottery offerings. These include brightly colored vessels and solid figurines decorated with appliqué and incision. The cheerful, informal figurines were probably intended to provide the dead with companionship, and to remind them of their loved ones.
